The deadlift is quite possibly the best exercise for building the posterior chain.  The deadlift is an excellent compound exercise that targets the quads, hamstrings, gluteal muscles, lower back, traps, and forearms.

However, if not done properly, serious injury such as a herniated disc can result. In this video, we demonstrate how to perform this exercise for maximum safety and strength-building.
